Find your vintage with Hors d’Age Armagnac

When I was first introduced to Armagnac, the term Hors d’Age was a little confusing. After speaking with the wonderful Eric I translated it to mean ‘beyond age’. If an Armagnac is described as Hors d’Age it is a blend of more than one vintage which, collectively, are more than 10 years old.

Expect the following aromas from a high quality vintage Armagnac;

  • Prune
  • Apricots
  • Orange peel
  • Mellow wood aromas (from the oak barrels)

Food Pairings

There aren’t many spirits out there that truly go hand in hand with chocolate. Armagnac is the exception!

For a Hors d’Age Armagnac try chocolate mousse or chocolate pear tart. If you’re looking for a main dish try roast duck breast with honey or candied fruit.
